First up, a couple of gym announcements:
- We're planning our next gym BBQ on Saturday, August 24 at 9am - last person standing . Obviously we won't be eating that entire time (however, Nick probably could) we'll be hosting a little inter-gym throw down. So get to training because the WODs won't be announced until day-of and the winner (or maybe winners...hint hint) will win something super awesome. Or just a whole lot of gym pride.
- We know, our music is really really repetitive. It's mostly because we're busy and not cool enough to know all the hip new songs that are out there. Or even some killer old-school tracks. To remedy this situation, we've put a music request sheet up at the front desk so you guys can lay down all your jams and we'll add them to the playlist. Or you can just shoot me an email and artist/song title and I can add them that way as well. If you're super tech savvy and have Spotify let me know and I'll give you unlimited access to the Lakeside playlist. Imagine what you could do with that sort of melodic power. ;)
As most of you know, Lakeside CrossFit entered their first competition over the weekend and besides no longer being able to move, they're all feeling pretty great about it. Teams were girl-girl and guy-guy so Tara and Ashley paired up and Lance and Brandon took on the guy teams.
Brandon and Lance finished Top 20 in the hardest division and Tara and Ashley finished Top 10 in the hardest ladies competition. More awesome - everyone on the teams PR'ed their one-rep max Snatch! Here's a video of the girls getting their PRs.
Competitions are a lot of fun and give you a goal to train for and they have scaled divisions for most comps - so let Ashley or Nick know if you're interested in entering one in the future! We're going to put a board up front with several upcoming options so you guys can research them before you sign up. :)
